Description
This ancient bristlecone pine tree is 3200 years old and still living in Great Basin National Park. These trees grow in isolated groves just below the tree line. The wood is very dense and resinous, making it resistant to pests and decay. Even after a tree dies, the trunk can persist for hundreds or thousands of years. Bristlecone pines are the oldest living organisms on earth. ID=C17_3037NsR.jpg. Copyright 2017, Greg Norrell. All rights reserved.
